One of my visions for 2019 is to see myself fit, healthy and skinny.
Last year I managed to lose 25 kilograms of weight with exercise and carb control. I learned that I wasn't just losing weight and getting in shape physically. Every aspect of me became stronger, calmer and more committed the more I pushed.
I sometimes get stuck in business, not knowing where to start or what to do and I'm okay with that. I'm okay with that because I know that if I put my laptop away and exercise by myself the tension in my body, mind and soul will leave.
People often forget that we come from a simpler time when strength was measured by fitness, this is still in our DNA and we need to calm the primate inside by giving it the basic pleasures.
Bashing at a boxing bag, running your lungs out or swimming with the strength of a whale might not seem so much fun to your evolved self but the monkey inside loves it.
Often reflecting what is bothering me helps me to continue on track with my goals and dreams. Do I physically need something or need to change something? What is going on inside my head? Or am I not comfortable with something that is going on in my life or business? These questions are necessary to improve the body, mind and soul.
How do you know if you physically need something? Well, the simplest thing to do is to look in the mirror. Me personally, I looked in the mirror in 2018 and used to think ''why am I so incredibly fat''? I gained so much weight in just 2 years of neglecting my body. These negative thoughts don't help much though so when I look in the mirror now I make sure I really look. Do I look tired, is there anything physically I would like to change about myself or is there anything else noticeably. Even if you eat junk food for a whole month you should be able to notice by looking in the mirror.
How do you find out what is going on inside your head? I find out by simply writing, I keep a diary close to me which I try to use frequently. You will learn that when you enter a quiet place with an empty page in front of you, words shall appear like magic. This will not only help you to identify what is going on but also helps to deal with stress, small issues but most of all helps you focus on what needs to be done after writing.
Knowing if you are comfortable in life or in business is one of the questions I always find a little more difficult to answer. There is always more comfort or more to gain in life. But I find that once my body and mind are in a good place, asking myself this question will often give the best result and sometimes result to big changes.
What does this have to do with a blog about fun? Everything! Since I have been focussing on the body, mind and soul I have been happier and so have the people around me. It helps me make an impact on peoples lives even more. Not only that but I am also more relaxed, make better decisions and know real fun when I see it because I'm more focused.
So I hope you will soon all be standing in front of the mirror, putting on your best running shoes, flashing through pages with the mighty pen and simply increasing your body, mind and soul so that we can all focus better on being fun people!
